Share “Writing Treasure Maps," the maps about special places in your life that have several stories to tell. I shared with you about Lake Metigoshe in North Dakota. I drew these places:
  • cabins
  • tents for cousins
  • pontoon fishing
  • dock fishing for perch with my bamboo pole and hook: Yum! Breakfast!
  • splashing into the water and almost drowning
  • choke cherry picking and jelly
  • teen music and dancing
  • playing cards with cousins

What will you draw on your map? What X will you mark? What label will your write to remind you of your story? Make at least three "X marks the story" marks on your map.

Model: Place Xs and label the stories in your map.
